are they on at the same time? I posted a Q about these lights a while back and turns out I found out what it is. I said it was a short others said it was the alt bushings. Turns out it is the "charging lamp relay". I kinda came across this by accident when wiring and feeding the guages through the gromet in the firewall. I had the truck running looking for 24volts and tapped on the relay. The dash lights flickered and I noticed the same thing happening when I go over sharp small bumps. I took the relay apart and found 2 of the solders had come away from the board. I re-soldered them and no lights since.....only at start up till the alt reaches full charging with a little skinny pedal.

Yes, I believe there is talk of this on the archives of the DTLC. Good for you for finding it!

As a note: on the BJ42 the sedimenter and seatbelt (or hand brake???) lights coming on are the nudge to check the charge system.

yep, i have this problem on one of my HZ equiped rigs and i was informed it was the charge lamp relay so i pulled out the EPC and there is no CLR in the 70 series LJ,PZ,HZ units so i phoned Mark at ENS and asked him and he confirmed this..

so, did the three lights stay on all the time for you ? on my 87 the lights stay on after I first start it, until I rev the engine once, then they go out and stay out.

was figgering on doing the brushes maybe in the spring, once it stops raining....

Mine would stay on all the time unless I hit a small sharp bump in the road then it would flash. Thats what told me I had some sort of wiring issue and not a charging issue. My lights stay on when I first start the truck and go away when I rev the engine as well. Im getting full charge for now so I wont be changing brushes.

I met a guy that drives another HJ and his light has been doing that for the past 140K kms with no charging issues.

I store a Mercedes Sprinter in my shop and notice when I start the truck in cold weather the lights are dim and as soon as I rev the engine the I hear a relay click and the lights get brighter, kinda like whats happening now with my truck.

The locatin of the relay is under the driver side dash and to the left, behind the plastic kick panel on my HJ.

I can take pics if needed.
