I have received all of the parts for the OME lift! I can't wait. Now the question is: Do the install myself with the help of a couple of friends or pay a shop to do it and be done with it?
The answer to this question directly impacts my purchase of a winch or sliders.
I think it depends on your combined wrenching experience, tools owned and number of adult beverages consumed. Depending on the age of your vehicle and how close to the rust belt you live, you may or may not encounter some stubborn hard-ware. I think a lift would be nice to have.....
That being said, I think I would be comfortable tackling it myself with a friend or two. As long as the women and children aren't within ear-shot.....because apparently my children have picked up a few choice words from me while I have worked on other projects....
"Who the F@#$ designed this stupid-@$$ piece of sh@#?!" I may or may not have also made references to prostitution and parts of both male and female anatomy.
I watched the tough dog video. I have the experience. I have changed shocks and struts, pulled engines, and changed clutches. The only thing that has me skidish is the alignment afterwards. I think I can get it close enough to get it to a shop for a proper alignment.
Part two is i'm feeling lazy..................I just don't know if i feel $800 worth of lazy.
