Somehow I think there is more to the story.
Like the kid had a snickers bar in his hand or something at the time. I find it hard to believe that the bite from an 11 yo would stop a pitbull (or any dog) that was truly "attacking".
BTW, I am not generally a PB apologist.

I don't think there needs to be anything more to this story.
I could see it happening. Dogs bite for all sorts of reasons, this dog might have just changed his mind. Not all PB bites are the total fxxxing looney dog attack type of bites.
My Beagles will give you plenty of warning before they remove a limb or article of clothing from you.
Uncle of mine had a Boxer whan I was a little kid. That dog was always trying to knock me over.....it succeded one time, I was four or five. Scared the crap outta me.
I was on the ground, grabbed the dog's foot and bit it as hard as I could.

I could not imagine a beagle biting anybody.
He was probably trying to play with you. And you bit him. What a dick.
We had a beagle that bit my brother a long time ago.
