Bought our first LC last week -- super stoked. I'd love to meet other LC owners in Austin.

On my todo list...
  • Chrome delete
  • Powder-coat wheels
  • BFG K02s
  • OEM front spacer
  • Window tint
  • XPEL paint protection film
What am I missing?

Great color combo, congrats!

Great color combo and to do list. You didn't list your desired use. However, I'm adding sliders as well as using the Toyo Open country AT3 tires. After weeks of research, they're much better for mostly road and occasional off-road use which is aligned with my goal of a family camper and occasional off-roader. I'll agree the K02 is more robust looking. I'm going with 275/70/18 for minimal modification. I'll have your entire list done by end of week. I'm on the fence about ordering the spidertrax spacers to flush up the tires more. I have a mag grey as well.

Thanks!

Yes! This is basically my situation as well -- 85% road use, occasional off-road use for camping, trips to Big Bend, summer trips to CO, etc.

I like the look of an aggressive tire and stance, but I don't necessarily need it.

Welcome, I was a January joiner as well. Similar goals for mine. Daily driver with 1-2 trips/year to enjoy the great outdoors with family.

What made you jump? A LC has always been my dream rig and risk of it going away made me act. Couldn’t be happier. Lexus version may stick around, but my wife reminded me that’s not a “Land Cruiser”.

Honestly I stumbled into this community by accident. We were looking at 3 row SUVs (i've got a gaggle of kids) and new Tahoes/Yukons kept coming to the top of the list.

I have a bias to buy things that last. As I started learning about the LC and this community it made the decision much easier. I think I would've regretted a GM vehicle as time goes on. My forecast with the LC is that my appreciation will grow over time (and I'm quite happy now)!

I have the same size tire on mine with stock suspension and it doesn't rub at all. I have some Spidertrax spacers set to go on too, but I have a feeling there will be some rubbing up front once they go on.

I was in the same boat. Looking at three row SUV’s but finding a suburban/Yukon with true 4wd is like finding a needle in a haystack. Luckily I somehow stumbled across the LC/LX platform and found a great deal on my LX570. I put on some tundra TRD wheels with KO2’s, some tow mirrors and looking to put on some spot lights right now as the next project. I live in Houston but go to Austin pretty frequently. @geanes does a gravel road trip up in llano every February or March I think. I’m hoping he does this year too and maybe I’ll see you there. Enjoy the cruiser, it looks great!

Well it seems like we have similar goals. That's why I went with skinnier, problem free 33's. You can go 285/70/r18 which will require a lift or dealing with minor rubbing, heat gun, etc to resolve. I gave up 10% looks to improve overall performance give my goals today. Long term, it'll be a purpose built overland rig.... Until then, it's my reliable, 3 row family SUV.

Just to annoy your partner, I've decided on dissent sliders and roof rack too.

Hah Tex, little do you know I have watched your build. Based on intel from other members, it will rub. I decided to go without the spidertrax this set of tires, and will add them next time. Reason being, with a brand new truck, I will get more rock scratches etc on my fenders. Round 3 I am going lift plus 34's and done. No worries, plenty of mods to come. However, this is my "daily" driver. I put daily in quotes, since I work from home, have another fun car, and realistically drive the wife's A4 the most.

Haha thanks, this will be a very mild build for myself as well. This is technically the misses vehicle and our weekend traveler so I don't want to get too carried away with it like I am known to do lol. They will rub up front with the spacers but it appears to be a very easy fix, we shall see how I feel once I get them on. If nothing else I'll sell them or keep them for later on in the build.

LMK if you sell them. Regardless a good looking build. Drama aside, many members have remedied with little work.

Looks great! Welcome!

Get the upgraded ceramic tint - makes a world of difference in hot summer locations on dark trucks like yours and mine

Beautiful. Is that a gloss or satin powder coat? Also curious what level tint that is.

I get new shoes next Tuesday. 🎉

Went with satin on the wheels. I told the tint guy to match, then he mentioned the light through the windshield etc. so we went one shade darker.

This picture just made me want to powder coat my rims as I have this color combo.
It looks really good. I was kicking around getting wheels but I wanted to keep it as stock as possible. They were able to match the center cap in satin so I still have the Toyota logo. I also had them install OEM black lugs so I wasn't left with chrome nuts
