I was about to buy a set of Bilstein 5100 for 2.5" lifted Landcruiser 105 (an 80 chassis with a 100 body basically). Then I stumbled upon Boss Shock Absorbers, but I have never heard of them before.

They are 12 position adjustable and available in all combinations of lengths with interchangeable ends fittings, bolt or eyelet.

Does anyone have any experience with these? Here is a link to their website:

I don't want to buy a lemon, but if they are a jewel, maybe I found something good??

Let me hear it all, The Good, Bad and Ugly, Thanks Darrell

Foam cell shocks are pretty old technology and I really don't like how they bash new shock technology. But the rebound adjustment is nice but useless without compression adjustments first. If they had both then it might be cool.

Just get any modern shocks, billies are great choice and fox if you don't mind a slight price difference but heck a lot better performance and locally available.

Thanks for the feedback, I didn't catch that only the rebound was adjustable the first time I read their stuff, thanks for noting that.

For me nothing but Monroe is locally available sine I live in Peru, so I am buying stuff I need while I'm in the USA.

I'm leaning toward the Bilstein 5100's since they are mono-tube and shed heat easier than the twin-tube and are available in a length for lifted trucks. My budget is modest or else I'd go with a remote reservoir Fox or King to cope with the heat. I have killed my last shocks in one trip off-road. 70 miles of South American trails is too much for a stock Monroe, and even for the ARB's (blew those too).

I think Bilstein 5100 is the right combo of Quality-Performance-Price
