Ok so I relocated the boost reading to after the intercooler.
I can still make the make max boost (7.5lbs) i had before but it is a heck of a lot harder to get up there. The boost on the gauge responds a lot slower now as well.
any ideas or comments?
thanks

I would think you are getting a more accurate reading now. The pressure loss across the intercooler is what is causing the lag in boost. I think you might now be able to increase the boost more if you wanted so you could get on to higher boost faster. Not 100% sure though.

Yes that is why I relocated for the more accurate reading. The boost sure is slow now though. So if I increase a bit the boost across all leveles will go up?
Relocated the pyro as well to pre turbo to see what the temps are doing.
The gauge sure reacts a heck of a lot faster!

I am almost positive of that. I have not yet increased my boost but you are really only adding pressure to a certain volume of air i.e. your intercooler. If you increase the boost it will be the same across the board. I still think you will havesome form of lag as the turbo needs to build up pressure in the intercooler before there will be a noticable pressure increase at the inlet of the motor.

John, did you relocate the wastegate tube as well (the one that tells the wastegate when to open)? You want that on the intake side not the inlet to the intercooler.

I ran the tube that went from the turbo to the to the actuator to the intake tube instead of the turbo housing.
The other tube just goes to the gauge so i left it.
Did that make sense?
I am going to try increasing boost and will see what happens. My max boost right now is 7.5 lbs.
I am not complaining about the performance or anything, the setup has been exactly the same for a year. Just wondering if I should increase the boost at all? I just want to keep my temps down with most performance.
Best of both worlds I guess!

crank the boost and fuel but keep an eye on the egts.
you might have too large an intercooler for the turbo...
cheers
