I discovered the OEM spare tire holder/chain - the piece that fits through the center of the wheel and holds the spare against the frame - does not fit through a Rock Warrior wheel. The holes for the hub in the Rock Warriors are smaller in diameter than those in my OEM 18" wheels. The solid "T" that attaches to the OEM chain prevents the holder from fitting through the hub.

My neighbor has a Tundra that came with Rock Warrior wheels, and I found that the Tundra's spare tire cable/holder allows it to slip sideways through the hole for the hub. I thought about getting a Tundra spare tire cable/holder, but the mounting surface and crossmember on the Tundra is different from that on the Land Cruiser.

Does anyone have a bolt-on solution?

Thanks!

Common solution. Take a pipe cutter and a cut off tool, slice about an inch of the pipe part off. Spray some paint on it. Hang spare tire.

Use a dremel or other similar tool to cut the sleeve that sticks upward from the wheel support, surrounding the chain, in half.. then the whole thing will fit without issue. You don’t even need to remove the upper portion of the sleeve as in this thread

Is a Harbor Freight pipe cutter enough to get through it? Maybe I'll grab one on the way home tonight.

Thanks!

It should work, just go slow. But you also need something to split the ring that you cut off, so you can get it off of the chain.

It doesn’t need to be removed from the chain. I left mine in place and it functioned just fine.

My OCD would not allow that.
