Thinking about a bluetooth car kit install in the LC... tried some of the plug and play type bluetooth speakerphones for the car and don't like the quality. Thinking about trying out one of the real install kits.

On my Audi I have a diagram of the stereo pinouts and it has mute ins to the stereo so the kit can automatically mute the stereo and play the conversation over the stereo.

Does the LC have this? I have a '98 100 series.

I guess I can pull the stereo and look, but hoping someone might have a diagram or instructions on a BT install already.

From what I can tell, it appears that all the LC stereos have a mute function. I get this from the site.

These are the different wiring configs for 98-?. Not sure if the newer ones have different wiring, but can't imagine them taking the mute function off.

Of course, can't be for total sure though.

My head unit is an Eclipse...and I ideally wanted to install a CB that would cut the music audio when talking. My stereo guys said the BT boxes are more problem than solution...FWIW. Certainly I am interested in hearing about your experiences if you give it a try.

Thanks for the link.

As far as BT... I'm somewhat dismayed at the plug and play solution I bought. Sounds tinny to the callers. I did, however, hear the exact installed unit as used by one of the tech support folks for Parrot. It sounded 95% good.. it cut out just a bit (and that could have been cell reception). He did mention that grounding the unit close to the battery is the KEY to good sound. Also the installed kit has a seperate mic and it can be placed VERY close to the driver as opposed to the P&P kit that has a mic attached to the cig 12v plug by a 1' cord, so not as close to the driver.

I have it, so it's either going on the LC or my TT for a test run. If it works well then I'll buy another and get rid of the P&P kit.

I'll pop the LC stereo this weekend to see how the wiring matches up and post pics of the install if it happens.
