Hey guys, I am about to go crazy looking for Part# 87138-60230 Blower Resistor for 1997 Lexus LX450. This AC has the automatic climate control, which makes it a different part from the Toyota. Anybody know where to get one? All the usual suspects don't have any and the part is discontinued.

I should have that resistor, but most issues are with the amplifier as inthefive555 mentioned. I have those too.

Fan will not run on middle two speeds. No issues with high or low and temp works fine. I have a borrowed resistor in the truck right now and everything is working good.

Cruiserparts.net not working?

What issues are you having? Are you sure it's not 88650-60212?

Cruiserparts did not have the part when I looked.

At the moment I have borrowed the numbered part I mentioned and it's working great. But its borrowed, have to get my own. I have searched the internet and can't find one.

Sorry for the delayed response, been out of town. I've confirmed its the part I mentioned. Just sent you a message if you still have the part. I can send you pics for confirmation....

Ever have any luck locating this part?

I contacted Wells Electronics the aftermarket park available on rock auto. These are other places to find the exact part

Does anyone know if the Land Cruiser part number 87168-60220 will work for this on the Lexus. The 60230 part number appears unobtainable.

I'm not 100% but if you have the LX type HVAC controls I think it will not work. I would get the aftermarket part it's been working great and was pretty inexpensive and easy to replace if it goes out again.

Okay, so is that the rock auto part? When I input the vehicle in advance autos site it says the part on their site doesn't fit.

Take a look at the post above. It has all the part numbers for the different companies. I believe I bought the one from advance Auto and it has worked great in my lx450. The configurators from different companies get very confused when you put in the Land cruiser because this specific HVAC control was only on the anniversary edition, so I would use the lx450 in this example for the configurators. If it doesn't work, you can always return it to your local parts store if it's nearby

Also keep in mind when I replace this I had to replace two parts to get full functionality back. This particular part got the system working better but not completely. I also had to buy a different part for the automatic climate control from an LS. The LS had an extra wire that isn't used on our cars. I believe one part was the transistor and one is the resistor.

My main objective to fix the blower function. I don’t typically use the climate control setting. Did this part fix the middle settings to work for the blower operation? Appreciate all you feedback. Any tricks on getting that sucker out of there?

When I encountered this problem I believe My blower only worked on 1 setting. The aftermarket part enabled me to have low and high. The additional part from an ls400 enabled the other middle levels. You will remove the glove box and it's pretty tight but just be patient and you can get these parts out. I did have to trim a very very small portion of the plastic air box to get it out. Just don't create a hole.

077800-0072 was the part I bought. It's a ls400 part that has an addition wire that isnt needed and it worked great.

So I got the resistor part in the mail today. I’ve got the old one out. The ceramic around it was broke and brittle so the old came out okay, but I can’t seem to get the new one in. The angle just won’t allow it. Is there another part that needs to come out, or how did you all get it in there? TIA

Okay, I got it in there now. I little bit of this corner had to be filed off.
