In need of some collective wisdom here. I've been working on my heater, and am in need of a few final parts. I've looked for a P/N on this. The gasket between the body and the blower motor crumbled - it seems to have been made of some sort of foam, and is now gone. Here is a picture:

And this one, with my finger sort of pointing at it. At this point, I think my "Fresh Pull" knob is letting in air fresh from the engine compartment.

If there is a homemade solution, I'd love that, too! Thanks.

You can go to the local Home Depot or Lowes and find some weather stripping that'll do a reasonable job for this seal. But keep in mind that there are a number of other places for air to leak out between the fan and your heater. The seal you show, the one between the blower and firewall, both sides of the flapper inside the blower housing, the plastic pipe to the heater, and in the heater itself (two flappers and around the heater core). IMO if you want your heater to work, replace them all... they're probably all in equally bad condition. Aatlas1x had blower & heater kits for sale but I don't know if he still does. You might want to PM him and ask.

I'm about to remove my fan assembly to tackle this sort of thing too. I don't want to use foam-type materials because they soak up water and thus promote rust. (Just like the sealing gaskets fitted to the kick-vents that I need to replace too.)

I'll probably use a flexible sealant (not silicone though) for what you are pointing at (once I have repainted the louvre area) but I'm interested in your replies because I'm undecided really.
