EDIT 1/24/2025:

Toyota block heater sourced from Canada. Part numbers and install PDF attached in this thread.

Anyone put a block heater in their LC 250 yet? what was your experience ? which one did you use or do you prefer?

From what I'm seeing, these are available in Canada, but not the US. US dealerships find nothing when they search their databases.

This is the Canadian factory option.

Looking at the pictures of the plug in ports for Canadian dealer installed part, and The Zero Start parts, they look very similar. These might be the same thing...

From what I've gathered so far: a Block Heater is not a factory option in the US, but it is available from Toyota in Canada.

The block heater is a "cartridge type" with a small probe that clips into a preexisting hole that is cast into the block, versus a traditional "freeze plug" style, that replaces a freeze plug in the block.

I have obtained the Toyota Factory P/N out of Canada, and I also got ahold of the factory install instructions.

FYI i'll be installing mine in a few days and i'll report back with some pics etc.

Well, as of this writing, I'm now the first LC250 in the continental US (lower 48)(that I know of) with a factory block heater.

Install was straight forward, following the Toyota install PDF, posted in this thread.

One change I made was Toyota wants you to install the Plug here:

I found the top left corner to be a far cleaner install, just my preference:

18*F last night, started the LC this morning, Coolant was up to operating temperature in about 30 seconds from departure.

I was pleasantly surprised at the level of detail on that installation guide.

Nice work on the install!
