Not good. Looks like an engine rebuild in the future

Oops.... Hard to argue with technology. Use oil analysis on heavy equipment all the time and it's pretty reliable. Baby it until you're ready, no drag racing!

Sorry Tom... I remember how I felt to realize mine wasn't as reliable as I needed it to be.

Unless you absolutely plan to rebuild it yourself, find an old school mechanic shop, that's been in business for 30+ years... Preferably someone who has also been racing for years. Ask them if/when they last worked on a 2F and get an estimate... Price and how long.

Or, remember @FJ40Jim says they are too dumb to die... And @JohnnyC ran his, low compression, oil leaks and smokey exhaust and all for 20+ years (IIRC)... And run it as is for as long as you need to... But, like Dick said... No drag racing!!

It's an FJ40... It's fun to just spend time with it even when you aren't going anywhere... Chester sleeps in mine, in the garage, while I sit and read in it... Teddy is in training now... Sleeping in 44, in the garage, as well.

I would pay this guy, Rice, he is just up the road a piece, sciency gearhead. I bet he would do a good job...........cough cough hint hint Rice

anytime we get a bad oil analysis at work we send another sample in just to confirm.

Problem.....I changed the oil right after. And started taking it apart right after. HAsn't had 20 minutes on the motor since the oil change

how did you get the sample? we change the oil and as it's draining we get the sample in the stream.
the other thing I noticed was the 6 month delay in the report???
not sure how Blackstone works but the place we use at work gets the results back with in 10 days sometimes 7.

I had the kit sent earlier in the year. I didn't send the actual sample till October I think

Reminds me of a soundbite in the legal arena: the rush to judgment.

I'm not sure if my motors would pass muster in the technical sense. Ignorance is bliss. I ran the old motor in my lwb for at least six years after I knew it was bad, and it still wouldn't die.
