Okay, will be serious.
1996 Lexus LX450
Triple, X3, Fully factory front, middle, rear locked.
Black exterior with grey (gray?) cladding.
Oak?/tan/beige/light grey-brown/brown interior. Some wood looking stuff and black plastic too.
Three rows of seats with varying conditions of integrity/suppleness, -/+ front to back.
Interior looks original (was likely not always the case being a 22 year old) everything works
Can play up to six Compact Discs AND one cassette.
Two key fobs operate the power door locks and a very sensitive and loud alarm.
OEM six cylinder engine.
OEM 4 speed transmission.
159K miles (definitely not UN-original)
Sorry, now I'll really be serious.
Here is the original link/ad/individual I made the purchase from:
SOLD - 96 LX450, 157XXX, Northern VA, Factory Locked 3x, Slee 6inch, 8500 USD
I bought her, sight unseen, as I badly wanted a black 80 series and just really liked the cut of it's jib. Some issues were disclosed, some I got to discover upon purchase and some in the ensuing days of ownership. Did my best to address what I thought needed immediate addressing and laid plans for others. Below is as far as I got or where I've lost wrench time to work/family/life etc...
4 spankin new 35” Cooper STT Pros
New OEM exterior door seals/belt molding x 4 doors
New OEM window seals x 4 doors (installed the fronts, need to put in the rears)
JDM Toyota hand throttle (-$75 not installed if you don’t need/want it)
OEM pop out dash cup holder (holy sh*t - 1 cup holder!!)
Infinity shallow ref speakers in front doors
New driver master window/lock control unit
New OEM dizzy cap and rotor
6 x Denso IK16TT iridium plugs
OEM heater control valve
OEM thermostat
Complete coolant system flush
Bypass for under seat heaters
New Toyota Red coolant
PSI checked OEM rad cap
Flushed brake fluid
Fixed:
Check engine light (EGR) repaired the valve and vacuum line leak
Wiring for Heat/AC control (AC isn’t amazing - works well on the highway, but might need a proper evac and re-charge)
Wiring for OEM stereo (everything works now, including disc changer, except power antenna) removed some old school cellphone mic wires and whatnot.
Front and rear diff locks (bought with damaged wiring - damn squirrels!!).
Here is what else I have and will include;
Driver and Passenger seats from a 2014 Audi A4. Passenger is fab'd up and ready to be re-installed (if the buyer desires). The driver seat has the mounting hardware, but I lost my welder and don't want any local shops touching the panther. Also the armrest leather is from the Audi, but I have an original. Here is the link from the build I used:
what seats can I put in my Landcruiser
A matching spare center console to cut up modify for seat heater switches, USB ports, cup holders
4 spare 1FZ Oil Filters (just changed the oil and filter last week).
2 ft of 3/8 Gates heater hose.
6 x OEM hex plugs for the diffs (inbound)
10 x OEM crush washers
Needs fixing (in my opinion):
Front seats if you keep/use the originals - leather and motors are no bueno.
A/C check
The lift has the truck sitting 1/2 -3/4 low on the driver side. Not sure why. Can’t tell when driving, but I haven’t taken it off road. It handles well considering. Ride height is 22-22 3/4" from hub center to fender.
No record of the head gasket being done - Mud is all over the place on this, and compression was good across all 6 cylinders. Figured I’d do it down the road. Coolant and oil are clean and separate from each other.
The body is clean has ZERO rust, but the frame seam and suspension have surface rust - I was planning on knocking down and POR-15/Chasis saver. Nothing is rotted - we can face time and I'll wack anything you like with a hammer for good measure.
Running boards and the trailer hitch also have surface rust. I was planning on sliders and an after aftermarket rear bumper.
Birfs/front axles look okay, but no records for any recent overhaul.
E-brake works but you have to really pull it up hard.
Finish base line = probably tranny fluid flush/change and hitting all the zerks.
Head Gasket at some point and rest of heater hoses (but the harness is wrapped).
Why selling / selling so soon? should be addressed I suppose. There are a lot of reasons, and I am looking at possibly having to sell both this cruiser and my most prized possession - the Blue Ox (but that will come later). As I'm sure many of you will understand "LIFE" is happening and the "man" has made some changes to my charted course. Most immediately of which is that I will not be leaving my current place of residence nearly as soon as planned and I don't' want to have to tow or drive two vehicles up north if we get another named storm coming to town. Also, I will now be re-locating to a different area than previously planned and this wonderful beast just doesn't make sense for me there. I'm eating some coin, but I would rather a fellow mudder take this bad boy out to the trails and beat the hell out of it like it deserves.
Located near Key West. I know, the most inconvenient place CONUS, geography-wise, but worse-case scenario - you get to tear up duval st, hit on 52 year olds that look 25, 25 year olds that look 52, slay some mahi/tuna/wahoo/manitee..... and maybe take home a panther (and a cougar).
FL title, in envelope.... that can be held in my hand or yours.
