Black Touch Up Paint on Chrome Lugs?

Touchup paint or any paint on chrome will not stay on. You need to prep the surface by scuffing it with 220 or 340 sandpaper. These being the lug nuts - you are going to remove them regularly, the paint will not stay on the sharp edges. You will have to touch them up.
Touch up paint is thick so that will help you get easy coverage. But it does not look as good as spray paint.
Best is to get new lugs or re-coat the ones you have if you have such a shop in your area.
Another option is to use epoxy, oven cured paint. It is much longer lasting and much harder to remove.
But I guess you're looking for cheap and quick solution so touch up paint it is.

you can buy the factory heritage edition lug nuts that come in black, under $100

I think I paid less than $70 for four sets a couple of years ago from Olathe parts. Of course, prices may have increased.

Maybe I’m weird but I kinda like chrome lugs with black wheels. Mine are black but I’ve been considering swapping them out.

Chrome lug nuts look better on black wheels in most cases. Whenever I see black lug nuts on black wheels it reminds me of a high school kid’s car where they took a can of black paint and painted the entire wheel while it’s still on the car.

Seems to me that it is probably a matter of personal preference. I think chrome lug nuts look out of place with dark rims.
