Those are decent deals, but once you factor in everything else i am not saving that much. This will be a work computer, and each time i replace it i need to take it back to our warehouse in NC to have it loaded with the software i need; namely photoshop and NCR/counterpoint for sales. It will also serve the purpose of being my personal computer and video/photo editing work rig. With each computer it takes a bit of setup work so i would prefer not to replace them every 2 years, rather than 5+ years. 5 years on a the road for a normal computer be sketch. I don't want to have a computer break while i am on the road if i can help it. If i was staying put, then any computer will work really.
Neither one of those show windows 10 professional, so add $100 to both.
Rugged series are business class - which comes with 3 instead of 1 year warranty - thats a 150 dollar upgrade
1st one:
768 display - need least 1080p to best work with 1080p video editing
8gb of ram - need to upgrade to 16gb at least - add $50
To bump the i5 to an i7 8th gen, is an additional $268 through dell.
no dedicated graphics card - which helps for editing videos and photos - add $200
2nd one:
no dedicated graphics
7th gen instead of 8th gen i7 - not sure how much difference in value
no solid state drive
thats just what i can see.
Once you add those things in it ends up being around 1000+ on both new and outlet site. Correct me if i am wrong though and thanks for your time!

Once you match or beat the specs then remember to add value for the extra piece of mind from knowing it is built to be reliable. The touchscreen gorilla glass screen is nice too!
