Can you tell me what model PSC pump you are using? Mine doesn't work, and I would like to replace it with an upgraded pump.

you should have the same bracket I have in Tencha .. if so the pump should be almost bolt on ( bit grinding here and drilling new hole there )

Just an update to this, I have put 300km on the odometer so far, and I'm very happy with the results. I'm almost down to 1/2 tank, I'm excited what my MPG numbers will be.

I installed the PSC pump, it was super easy as Tapage mentioned. I'm having the same problem with the reservoir as it runs out of fluid when a lot of steering is required. I will have to upgrade to something more significant soon.

So far no glitches, it just keeps on ticking. I went over all the brakes when I did the conversion, but I think I may have a sticky rear wheel cylinder.

I think the next stage is to get this thing wired. I want a decent stereo, inverter, 3rd battery, air compressor, fridge wiring, etc etc etc...

glad it work out .. you will end with a bigger reservoir .. dunno if you have a piston, but if you will, and will add oil cooler .. bigger reservoir become a must have ..

I made a drilled and tapped steering box for the BJ74 for a steering ram, but turns out the sector shaft was not straight or galled. I didn't have a LHD 70 series box laying around, so I had to combine the RHD HJ61 internals with an FJ62 box to make another good steering box with the correct turns for the LHD 70 series.

I'll eventually rebuild the original steering box and reinstall it later. It should get a steering ram, but not until I work on suspension (maybe next year).

Just an update to this thread, I've been daily driving my big stinky since I finished the engine install, and it's by far my favorite cruiser to drive. I'm getting 21MPG with the 12HT, and that makes me happy ;-) It pulls over the pass in 5th gear the whole way, even while passing people who are scared to drive the speed limit in the snow.

Next on the list is suspension, lockers, upgrade turbo, intercooler.

Who needs a Prius when you have a diesel?

cough cough... pictures... cough cough.

wish you guys were little closer, would be fun to compare my LHD BJ74 with 1HZ with disco potato, to your 12HT.
Were you able to keep the tranny in the stock location?

yes. was easiest motor swap i've ever done. The motor mounts came from Toyota (for HZJ75) Stabbed the 1HZ in, bolted the motor mounts to motor... then welded them to frame... by the time my friends stopped by to help I was cracking a beer.
