Hello...At what point (year model) would BJ41's and BJ42's have had factory A/C and P/S as standard equipment and are any of these models available in the States? I am only interested in diesel models and RHD is not a problem. Thanks ......1978HJ45

Depends on the market. Never standard in North America.

and are any of these models available in the States?
Only if imported gray market.

Thanks for the reply. Were any of the later models also offered with 5 speed gearboxes? .........1978HJ45

Thanks..................................................1978HJ45

BJ41 usually came with A/C no PS, 4spd only JDM market
BJ42 PS late 82-84 with 5 spd most markets, A/C only in markets like Australia

Thanks.......... The P/S is not that important however the A/C is a must because we are already topping 30 degrees (C) and we are still in May. June through August will easily top out in the mid to upper 30's so rolling down the window just does not cut it.
If the 3B and four speed combo can yield speeds in the 100 km range the 5 speed gearbox is not that big of deal either.

My 1978 HJ45 tops out at approximately 90 km with the "H" diesel and any speed above that would require ear plugs. The Cruiser is most happy at 80 km which of course is not adequate as a average highway speed. Thanks...........1978HJ45

I have a Hj45 with a 2H and a 5spd. I've had it up to 140 km/h on the clock, although the clock does show about 10km/h too much at 90 it is still more than I thought it would do, and it wasn't even on purpose!:)

"Footwell Ventilation".......That would explain the fact that my right leg from the kneecap to my ankle is the only portion of my body that is not soaked from sweat after a Summer drive.
Take care......1978HJ45

WOW.....140 km/h ---- I am not sure my LJ78 would even go that fast........................1978HJ45

Does the BJ41 have the 3B diesel? ...............1978HJ45

When the temps exceed 100deg (F), the foot vents are useless because at highway speed you essentially burn your leg, been there done that 109F day in southern Oregon last year, 7 hours from Portland to Cresent City Ca in 100+ temps. The Smith River never felt so good! Top speed (comfortable) in my 1981 BJ42 with a 4spd and 3B engine (no power anything) is 90-95km/h.

Does the BJ41 have the 3B diesel? ...............1978HJ45

2B in BJ41 and 44
3B in BJ42 and 46
