I dont know if anyone actually follows this thread as its been soooo slow. Anyway my pal is over this coming week and we have four days to get the build moving again. Pictures of the progress to follow. I hope to get it started towards the end of the week and see if the turbo fitted works!

Ok, after a busy week, things moved on slowly. We have mounted both battery trays, mounted the radiator and cut down the cowling by an inch to fit it in. Placed the seats into position and we have had the roll cage up and positioned. We FINALLY aligned the body work up and got it all bolted down. We are happy with how the bonnet fits now and once the support rubbers go in it should look good. The only issue is the 1/2" over hang of the bonnet over the front valance. We may end up trimming the back of the bonnet and re rolling the edge to make it fit. While unpacking the side steps we found a build Video cassette from aqualu. Well that was informative! (not) it takes you back to how bad video recorders once were.

I have this on my phone now. Will post some more later.

We also found a front bumper which looks good and as for the seats I have some bucket ones shown earlier in this thread but I am going with originals as seen here.

:)

Rob.. what 55 have you got coming? I have one sat here that is waiting for an engine.

Congrats on the construction of your new workshop.

I am little curious to know, what wieght advantage you get form an aluminum body as compared to conventional steel body?

Thanks

Roof with half doors and no sides looks good, Not seen that done before but now you´ve posted that pic it looks like an obvious option. Is that the desired config or is it just while your waiting for sides? Wonder what the aerodynamics will be like. You have to do anything special to get thru MoT with roll bar mounted seatbelts?
