That VIN (JT1V0BJ7509001763) will not work if you try to register it in the US or Canada. US and Canadian VINs employ a check digit on the 9th position and its value is calculated from the VIN itself using a certain mathematical formula. The check digit on this vehicle's VIN is not the correct number and the DMV computers will spit it out. Better have contingency plans ready if you buy it.

we do not need a different vin number in Alberta as they do in BC (or so it seems)...
