That VIN (JT1V0BJ7509001763) will not work if you try to register it in the US or Canada. US and Canadian VINs employ a check digit on the 9th position and its value is calculated from the VIN itself using a certain mathematical formula. The check digit on this vehicle's VIN is not the correct number and the DMV computers will spit it out. Better have contingency plans ready if you buy it.

we do not need a different vin number in Alberta as they do in BC (or so it seems)...

Have you tried to register a JDM vehicle with 17 digit VIN in AB yet? How did it go?

nope, but i have watched as they play with the computator to get the 7 digit working...
but i agree, i might be wrong afterll.
tell yah what, you buy it and i wil register it for you, of course then i will need to keep it here for a while...

I know of one BJ73 that had no trouble passing Alberta OOP and getting registered but needed to have the rear seat removed and a new VIN in BC. Funny its still running with the only real deficiency by my standards which is the wrong hand drive headlights.

About that ebay listing, it is impossible to enter a VIN that is not either canadian or US vehicle in ebay.ca/.com. I didn't want to let me type in a JT1 (europe) vin number but only a JT3 (N.America). And then I noticed that my insurance company has it under the VIN number that I have posted, beats me why. But it is registered under the correct VIN JT1V0BJ75...

The truck has to go, third baby coming.
