BIRF Ball Bearing hot spots

It appears my Birf balls got to hot!!!! Is this what happens when the grease gets contaminated as in the other photo or is this typical for 305,000 miles?

Normal did you take apart the bird and actual look at your balls?
 
Those hot spots are normal and are created when the bell part has the grooves machined in it where the ball bearings ride.
 
Thanks for the input. I didnt take the Birf apart. I just cleaned all my balls and rubbed fresh grease on them. After I posted this question, I did notice in the YouTube vidio I followed, he had the same ball burns so it must be from the machining process
 
IIRC the dark bluish marks are from the heat treatment process.

The dark blue marks ARE from heat-treating.
If the balls got hot enough to do that, they would be squished oblong and hanging down to your knees...
