Biometric Door Locks

Biometric is basically reading a "code" on your finger. I know there are door locks that just require you to punch in a 4 digit code to enter at a fraction of the price. So same theory, just a different interface.

Great idea, but too many electronics that may get wet in the weather being on the outside of the house. Plus at the cost of those, It would suck to come home in the rain and find out it fried the circuit and be locked out.

This is what you want, I use it on my cabin and it is always exposed to the weather...

I have one similar to the one pictured above and exposed to the elements. So far, it's been working great.

A while back, I saw one of those punch four numbers (mechanical) and the front lid opens to reveal a key for the front door lock, sort of like what the realtors use but made for home owners. Kind of cool I thought if you want to have one lock box for all the keys to your house in one spot!
