Brownbear, yea i know the problem is veg oil the cheapest i can get is A$8/4ltr. So that work out to be A$2/ltr. Thats expensive cos my petroD cost me only A$0.60/ltr. So its not economical for me to run on SVO. The only way to get around that is to manufacture my own Biod from used cooking oil. Also sometimes it get cold for 6 mths out of the year dropping below 15 deg on avg during that 3 mths. Im still thinking about my options. We wull be firing up our generator (500kva) soon and it guzzles 98ltr of diesel/hr under full load @A$1.20/ltrbrownbear said:where do you live? if its in a wamer place, like Vancouver, for 1k you can have a second tank and run WVO straight, heated .

I like the second tank idea myself, as bio needs to be cut with diesel in the cold anyhow. WVO once up to temp works in any climate. Its getting it to temp that is the problem.
But I spoke with a few makers of kits, and for my climate they suggested a inside tank. No problem with veggie oil, no flammable vapour.
ok how many ks have you done on the car using VO? how do you plum it in as a 2nd tank? Wat are you getting the mileage/ltr of VO?brownbear said:no need to buy new oil, lots are running wvo in there straight set up.

One of my dreams back in 1999 was to buy a diesel truck/car after considerable consideration of all models and pricing was lucky enough to pickup a used 84 hj-60 wagon. I have made small batches of bio but will make more for this vehicle. I want to know if the rubber o-rings and rubber hoses need to be replaced ? I know the left over methenol in bio can ruin these parts.
