Could someone with a bikini top on their rig measure the length and width for me. I was in a freind of mines vehicle the other day and he had a top on from this company Spiderwebshade it is a super nice and cool (temperature wise) top. The only problem being they make them for Jeeps and not Land cruisers. I talked to one of the guys and they do custom work but need to know the dimensions, and where the loops are. I figured I could connect, with a bungee style loop to the sun visors in the front or thread a bolt with a circular hole into where the hard top connects, and the standard rear tie point of other bikini tops ive seen.

Or does anyone know if any form of JEEP inside dimensions are close to an FJs inside dimensions. I.E. Windshield width, width of roll bar, distance from windshield to bar. If so I could buy one of their standard sizes.

I happen to be In Orlando, where the company is located, for a few days and thought about going by to pick one up.

A number of Land Cruiser vendors carry bikini tops specifically made for Land Cruisers. Why reinvent the wheel or have something custom made (unless you make it yourself)?

It is little wider then the windshield and long enough to go over the rollbar. It really is that simple. Do you have a track for the soft top? The top is usually wider on each side to provide enough material attach some snaps. Each style is slight different but the ones that also snap stay in place the best.

I haven't seen one that isn't a solid material like canvas or Vinyl. I like the idea of the mesh fabric they use.

I figured that, its just that my 40 is in Seattle, and i'm here in Orlando visiting my parents so cant measure the dimensions. I dont have a track yet, i was hoping to avoid using one with a bungee system or a closed loop bolt that I could screw into the threaded hole the had top utilizes.

Jeep bikini tops are narrower than cruiser specific ones by several inches. I was given one once and it worked but didn't fit well, my left arm and shoulder were sunburnt all that Summer I used it. Up here in the PNW you really want a traditional solid bikini top anyway unless you like a wet butt. The rains will return long before you'll want to put that hardtop back on. Good luck!

That's a perspective I didn't consider, that's true I'll probably want the top off when it starts to rain some

I have two of the SOR bikini tops one standard solid and the other I've had for 12 years, the Safari summer top with the mesh vent screen and roll over cover (kind of like a sunroof.) The Safari version does puddle water on top if you are parked or in traffic in a rain storm when closed it will really drip water right between the driver and passenger. They are tough material that really last.

Thanks all for the alternates, but does anyone have the dimensions of a bikini top that works. One amazon review of the bestop brand one says 52"x56" one says 50"x52.5" do either of these seem correct?

I just made one and the finished size is 52” wide and 49” long, that get is just over the top of the roll bar.

I’ve ran several bikini tops on my rig over the last 40 plus years. The one I am using now has lasted the longest and fits the best and also looks great is made my Specialty Top Co, Denver Colorado. It measures 54 inch wide by 47 long to rear seam. This fits over my double wide sand roll bar. The top goes beyond the rear seam by 4 to 10 inches. The material is also by far the best, color grey and is made from a boat cover type material not vinyl, my least fav. Also I do not use any snaps but top fits perfectly with the “tiger” channel mount. Snaps shown in pic are left over from previous top and left to cover the added hole. Hope this helps.
