I do like...I have a bior bumper. Maybe have mike make a new arm for me?

Looking at a t2 tomorrow...see if it might work...a nice member here offered a great deal on a new t2 rack...keep u posted

I like this option IF you are a roadie / xc mtb rider with standard 9mm quik release axles. It looks like a Draftmaster maybe?

I'm using a Kuat 2-bike platform rack (similar to the ubiquitous T2) but it only works moderately well for the assortment of 9mm Xc / 15mm AM / 20mm DH / CX / 20" kids bikes that we haul around. The biggest problem with any of the platform racks is limitation of only carrying two bikes. Once you add a +2 extension to increase to a 4-bike capacity (which only makes sense when you have a rig that can comfortably haul 4 adults + gear on a biking weekend) you have challenges with seriously reduced departure angles and 48+" of cantilevered weight bouncing behind you.

Before you shell out any serious dollars, consider the types, frame styles, and number of bikes you will want to carry.

Hth a bit.

^that^ is a very good point. Don't just consider your current bike. Consider your friends' bikes, your next bike, etc. Since this thread started, I went from a hardtail, 26er with quick releases, to a FS 29er with a Lefty (one-sided "fork"). I'm having to open my mind to all the options out there... such as a (gulp) hitch rack. ;-)

I have the Yakima 4 bike hitch mount on my rear BIOR. It has the swing sideways features that used to work pre BIOR when loaded. I would swing it sideways with a bike or two mounted and I could drop the tailgates easy. The current setup on the BIOR makes it impossible and the width of your spare tire on the mount makes the rack tight to squeeze onto the hitch when fitting. That one post that showed the vertical mount off the bumper looks great, but of course will depend on if you are wheeling with full load. You will compromise on departure angles and of course, unless you have upgraded springs ,might cause you grief with gear and passengers.

So is that a one off bumper? I was trying to find the w w everywhere but nothing!

Very cool but oh well, once again I guess it's true, if you can't find what you want you must build it yourself!
