Sweet Otis, happy to hear you are coming too. I will have a passenger as well; his only job will be to shoot as many pictures as possible. This trip will be fully photographed, not for a magazine article but for a website we are starting.

Yeah we had a great time at the last BB run :D I’m going to try my best to make this one.

Since we’re meeting at fawnskin we could run:

Holcomb east to west and follow up with Dishpan Springs E-W, which would be great double-header. Recommend some sliders, lift, good tires for those. Used my lockers a couple times I recall at the rock gardens but you can most likely do without on the easier lines.

Else
John Bull east to west followed by Holcomb. Jbull west to east is a bit tougher for an 80 with that offcamber left hand drop turn. I’ve run the bull a lot more than Dishpan so I prefer the later for a change.

BTW can we push the fawkskin fire station meet back to 9am, brother’s got to sleep some ;)

CB channel 10?

Brian

I would like to tag along with you guys if you can handle another 40. However, I will bring an 80 owner along as a passenger... His truck is not ready to hit the trail yet but seeing some of the built 80's should give him some ideas...

I'm Otis' passenger, and I've got plenty of ideas already. What I'm short of is time & money! I look forward to meeting you all on Monday.

Excellent. Look forward to meeting you.

Article is in the hopper just waiting on some info from Christo. Christo wants to wait and run it so that it hits during the summer months.

Orange County time is still 6:30am , OSO & 5frwy. All sites have the 8:30am fawnskin time, but you know how hard and fast that is??? All passengers get photo duty, that's a given.
Slomo, Nice new shoes, your old ones looked like little donuts.

Well I heard from Iverness and just a heads up he said 330 is closed so plan accordingly. See you guys up there in Fawnskin...

Im out - totalled my Nissan/daily driver Sat AM coming home from a night shift and my 80s AC compressor is questionable.

I thought I can drive up there and hitch a ride.

I was thinking of taking the 80 but second thoughts.
The 80 is the daily driver for now and I dont need additional probs (still not enough armor/protection). :frown:

Have fun everybody.

See you there, Thanks, and you are right. ;p

Thanks for the reminder.

Very sorry to hear that Alan, but I am glad that you are alright. I was looking forward to hanging with you but I totally understand. We will catch you on the next one.

shoot, couldn't make it either...

hope you guys had a blast!

Results, pics, carnage? Inquiring minds that were stuck at work day dreaming about being with you guys want to know!!!! Post up damnit! :D

Ran Holcomb Creek 3N93 from Rim of the World to Crab Flats on Sunday. I'm bummed I couldn't make it on Monday.

Had to build some bridges in the rock garden to make it thru the rocks w/stock LX450. No way I'd have made it without lockers. Those of you who drove Holcomb on Sunday may have noticed some logs piled up in places.

Lost both mud flaps and mangled what's left of the running boards. I don't think I'll be trying this again without sliders and a lift.

Lousy cell phone camera pic of my rig w/axle articulation in Holcomb rock garden. Sun 10/8

Congrats on mangling your running boards - great excuse for the wife to get sliders!!! Ray had similar issues running Holcomb stock. Just enough rocks that it's nice to have sliders and a little lift.
