I was looking at getting a set of 5 of these in 315/75R16 and holly crap are they expensive, at least more than I thought.

Does anyone in the Phoenix area know of a good place to get these at a decent price?
Thanks
Tony

Nope, BFG, IMO, has shot themselves in the toe with the current pricing structure...Dealer discounts are not and option now.:frown:

The KM2's seem to be going for about $250.00 a piece - that adds up fast!

for a little bit more, you can get the Toyo's.

My brother talked me into getting the BFG KM2 LT345/75R16/D. I know I'll have them for Cruise Moab. :grinpimp:

I just ordered the BMG KM2's from a friend that is a manager at Discount Tire. Should have them later this week.

Congrats on the purchase! I'm looking forward to getting mine in a couple of months!

I got mine at Discount Tire, but I don't know what it cost since it was a warranty replacement for my busted KO

I've been stomping around AZ & Mexico for the last year and a half with these mud shoes on my 62 and I love em. I think they're the best tire I've ever owned!

Ditto, that's why I posted the comment.

I got tired of replacing tires that I'd ripped the sidewalls on. BFG have weak sidewalls, and so do Bridgestone!

I have yet to even scrape the sides of these Toyos, they are tough muthas!

Heavy as all hell, though.

The KM2s get amazing traction compared to the mtrs or bfg a/ts I've had before. They ride pretty good on the road as well a lot quieter than most. I've got the 35s on 15" rims and they wear really well so far as well.

Haven't tried the toyos other than the street ones on work trucks do they even make them in a 15" rim?

I guess I will find out the hard way with the way my new KM2's are going to work and hold up.

You'll love them off road. On road they are fairly quiet for a MT, until you wear the first 1/3 of the tread. Mine have become increasingly louder as they wear down. I rotate 6 of them, so I have about 20K miles total. Getting 50K out of them should be no problem if I keep them that long - I'm considering 37's.

I had some 285/75r16 KM2s on my previous truck and loved them. They are super tough and get amazing traction on some crazy stuff. They are pricey but great tires. Most of all I was impressed with the sidewall strength. I witnessed a few other rigs on the trail running KM2s aired down and the sidewalls can take one heck of a beating with seemingly zero signs of damage. They are a little rough when you first get them, but after a few thousand miles, they smooth out. I rotated mine every 3K which seemed to keep them from getting loud and kept even wear.

What I first noticed with the KM2's is the lack of the bead protectors from the originals:frown: (a big plus for me running Centerlines). IMHO, I agree air pressure is a big factor reguarding sidewall cuts. So far running 12-15 psi has saved mine (knock on wood of course), from puntures.

:meh:, I know I'll eat these words someday.:o

I have a friend that is the manager of Discount Tire and if I get punctures, he told me to bring it back and he will replace it for free with a new one no questions asked! Nice to have friends.

I love my 33x12.50r15 KM2's for offroad, but in a heavy vehicle in the mountains they are not that great. I just took my FJ62 from Gilbert to Overgaard this weekend and at anything past 55 it felt as though I was riding on basketballs. Mind you that the max PSI per the sidewall is 35PSI so I run mine around 32PSI.

not too mention a real poor replacement for one of the best all round mt's out there. oh well, i have a reason to switch brands now as BFG no longer has anything i want. maybe parnelli's for the taco now, i am real happy with them on the pig.
