I'm getting mixed info from tire dealer and websites. Are they or aren't they?

BFG AT's - Severe Service rated or not?

I assume you mean severe winter rated?
If so the ones on my BJ60 32x11.5x15 and the ones on my '55 33x9.5x15 are both severe winter service rated with the mountain and snowflake symbol in addition to the M+S symbol. The BFG AT's did not used to have that rating so check the actual tires you're buying to be sure. Both of my sets of tires are 2-3 years old, not more.

Finally got through to BFG, the third person. The first two said that they weren't Severe Service rated (yes, winter service), and the third asked a supervisor, and they actually looked at a tire and sure enough they are, just like the one I was looking at in the parking lot earlier.
