I'm just over 20,000 miles on the 275/70/18 BFG ATs. I bought 5 and have been doing a 5-tire rotation. Each time I go to Discount Tire, the same thing happens - First, the same guy says "No way. Can't be 5,000 already" (he's very cool). Second, we walk around the truck checking the tread depth and "plan" the rotation accordingly.

I asked him how much wear there is. He said "Uhh none" Then clarified: "The two that spent the last 5,000 on the front have some wear. New, they're at 14. These three are at 13, these two are 12. They're like new. And you have 20,000 miles on a 5,000 lb truck? Man, that's awesome"

Keep in mind, this is a 5-tire rotation. But, at the rate they're going... should be well north of 50,000 miles before I'm even thinking about new tires. Guess it'll be a while before I (get to) go bigger ;-)

I have 55k on mine and they have over half the tread left and the edges are still nice and square.

i got almost 100k out of my first set. 235s on a s10 blazer. i was young and rotated when i changed the oil every 3k miles. now i go about 10k miles. i have 55k on my tow rig and i hate to say it but i have only rotated them once at 25k and they are still square and have about 10k miles left on them. i only run bfg at on my street trucks

Recently went wheeling with Manhattan Mark and am shocked to learn he has 20k on those things. My guess would have been he bought them the month before hitting the trail just to try and show us 80 guys a thing or two. Whatever rotation system you're using I'm gonna adopt it. Hope you're well buddy.

I am at 70k and just staring to look at replacements.

FWIW I was rotating every 5k front to back. At 40k I rotated in an x and noted accelerated wear. I rotated in that pattern due to cupping from me driving in the left lane all the time and correcting for the crown with minor input.

Interesting. I did an experiment on this set. I didn't rotate once. They wore maybe 1% more on the outside on the fronts. I am pretty happy with that...

I have 29,000 miles on my set. I'm doing a four tire rotation and I still have 40% left with really square edges and nice, even wear.

I love BFG AT's, the only drawback is that the compound needs to be really hard to wear this slowly and that makes them super hard at -40F, it's like driving on plastic BigWheels tires.

I've had bad luck with BFGs. First set on a Suburban lasted around 20k miles with rotations. Second set on an FJ60 lasted about 30k miles. Both trucks were aligned immediately before or after install.
