I can't seem to get a definite answer (even from BFG's website) as to whether it's true or not that the A/T KO's are available in both 6 ply and 10 ply. Is there any truth to this? If yes, I would assume the 10 ply is what I would want for a 62 that will be carrying the weight of aftermarket bumpers and hauling a good amount of stuff on a regular basis. Now, all the ones I see available don't specify what ply they are (beyond 3 ply for the sidewall), but list them as having a C load range. Would the C range be suitable for a well laden 60/62?

I had the same dilemma with a heavy truck that I beat mercilessly. With a 15" rim, I could only find 6 ply tires. Those don't cut it, I ruin them. I moved into a 16" rim and run 235/85 15 in a 10 ply. No problems since. If my memory serves me, the C rating is a 6 ply, D rating is an 8 ply, and the E is 10. Hope that helps.

Okay cool. That confirms what I was thinking.

Soooooo now, where the hell can I get a set of BFG A/T KO's in 33x1050r15 that are 10 ply? I haven't found a single source that specifies either that OR a load range of E.

Don't wanna go with 16" rims because I've got a brand new set of 15x8" wheels sitting in boxes in my shop ready for tires.

I don't think you'll find 15's in Load range E. Not sure why, but the E range tires all seem to be in 16" now.

Well, s***.

Looks like I'm stuck with the 6 ply tires. Hopefully these will be fine for me...

Most 10 ply tire where made for 1 ton trucks to carry weight. They have all stepped up to 16's for many many years to clear bigger brakes to stop the trucks.

You are stuck with what the market bares.

Toyo MT's are reputed to be pretty tough, and come in a 33x10.50. Their webstite has a pretty comprehensive list of specs for each model and size.

I don't think that the C's are going to be a problem. If you were towing a toyhauler tag or fifth wheel, or something like that then it would be cause for concern.

Rather than worrying about how many plies, look at the tire's max load rating, multiply that by 4 and then start subtracting vehicle net weight, etc. I'll bet that the 4 tire's rating exceeds the GVW by a significant amount.
The off road tires that I just put on my CTD are rated 3660 lbs each, 460 lbs each more than the forged aftermarket wheels are rated for. I highly doubt that I'll ever exceed the 12.8k lbs that the wheels will carry much less the 14.6k lbs that the tires will carry.

when I bought mine I coulld not find BFG KO MT 33*10.5*15 in stock anywhere and I don't think 15 inch tires come in an E rating as noted above. I had to get 12.5 width.

I saw on Tire Rack that they're in stock ready for delivery two days after the order is placed (haven't ordered yet. Was curious to see freight) for my zip code. A set of five after shipping comes to $975. Going to compare that to AAFES's price and see where that lands me.
