I had some spare 40 parts stored under my carport (in central Austin), leaning against the garage door behind my Dad's pickup. They weren't visible from the street. Last week some asshat stole a PS ambulance door, two hard doors, a set of roll bar pads, a couple of new 6 ton jack stands, and a section of OEM 40 exhaust plumbing. The doors were all red and in good condition. For some reason they left the DS ambulance door; I guess they didn't need it. I filed a police report but don't expect to recover the parts. Other non-Cruiser stuff was not taken, so it seems reasonable to assume the thief is a 40 owner.

So, just a word to the wise, lock up your spare Cruiser parts.

Sorry to hear Sea Knight. If I hear/see anything, you can guarantee I will let you know.

It would be ironic if someone asked you to sell my parts on consignment, but I suspect they stole them for a restoration.

Classic!

Sorry to hear that. Too bad it's illegal to chop off a thief's hand in this country.

Mike, I can think of another appendage that should be cut off in addition to a hand.

What bothers me as much as the stealing is that the thief is probably a Land Cruiser owner.

That other appendage is saved for another crime that sometimes involves goats. Who knows where you and live and owns a 40? If nothing else was touched they must have known exactly what to look for and where it is.

Sorry to hear that Lee. Do any of your neighbors have surveillance cameras? Maybe one of them might have picked something on video...

That's not a real cruiserhead..
He is a piece of s*** that has a land cruiser

Mike, the house is on a street that gets a lot of rush hour traffic. Anyone driving by would see the 40. People stop all the time to ask about it, so it's not like it's hidden from view.

Luis, no surveillance cams, and the neighbors didn't see anything. There's a lot of construction going on in the hood. Anyone with a pickup could have pulled up in broad daylight and not attracted any attention. Considering how much was taken, it had to be in a truck or SUV. They left the PS ambulance door and a nice set of BFG AT's. Must have run out of room.

Amen to that.

so you're saying there's still tires and an ambulance door :poof:? what' s the address again :hillbilly:?

in all seriousness Sir, I'm sorry a s***ty thing like this happened and I hope to meet that thief in hell.

They were supposed to take the 40, too. Damn Xzibit...

Thanks Edwin. I wouldn't think the thief would be stupid enough to take stolen parts to the best Land Cruiser shop in Texas, but ya never know.
