I am getting ready to mount some trail gear sliders, and was interested in how forum members would go about it. Weld to frame? Bolt to frame? Any mounting pics or advice? Thanx in advance, Larry

Most bolt to frame, some weld to frame.

I've seen a couple clever people weld on scab plates, then bolt to that (so it's not wrapped around the frame).

Do you care if they are removable? If you don't, then weld it on.

What size are those? Justin ( js93cruiser) has em on his lx450 he welded his on. They look great. And there way cheaper than any of the other guys even with having to fab stuff yourself.

If you arent super anal you could weld on. Just make up some nice 1/4", diamond shaped scab plates and gussets for each outrigger and weld em on. Thats what I did. I also have an easily removable cat skid which is kind of omportant if youre welding on.

You could use u bolts around the frame and make up some brackets for the sliders. I never really liked that method for some reason.

You could make some U shaped brackets that wrap around the sides and bottom of the frame at each outrigger then run a bolt or two above the frame (if youve got the room).

You could get real fancy and make up 2 sets of scab plates, weld some nuts to the backs of one set, drill corresponding holes in your frame, weld that scab to the frame with the bolts in the holes, drill corresponding holes in the second set, weld those to the outriggers and end up with a super clean bolt on result.

All depends on how fancy you want to get.
