So I have an internal full roll cage that was bulit which allows me to also have the hardtop on. Hardtop fits with about an 1" clearance at any location on the cage. I am interested in running a Super Top and Best Top does not have any dimensions for me. Will the Super Top fit over my cage? What I am really after is knowing how well the ST follows the hardtop roof line of the original top. I should think that the ST bows are the same height as the FJ40 fiberglass top? Any thoughts on this or measurements on this before I make a purchase? Thanks in advance.

If the hardtop fits.....so will the soft top. I have the STC soft top and a hardtop and my MetalTech fits both, with ease and room to spare.

You will not be able to fold down the B pillar bow on your Bestop with your cage. It will rest on top of the cage.

X2, I have a best top (which is for sale BTW!) and a full custom cage. It won't fold like Southboston said.

I just run a bikini top in the summer and since I never fold the soft top, selling it to buy a hard top.

And...the soft top bows stick up about 6" above my cage, which honestly I think gives it a goofy look but it will clear your cage if the hardtop fits.

Sounds like it will work for what I have. I don't plan to fold it up that often, only the sides. I may be able to cut the top bow, sleeve it and pin it so that it can be pulled apart, folded in place then pinned, back together. Just have to wait and see how it goes. Thanks for all the info.

I don't have mine in front of me but could you not take the bolts out that mounts the tube to the bracket and use a pin and a cotter pin?

I would think that would solve the problem. Also could get a bimini top channel and mount it on top of the side curtain pieces and then mount your Bestop bracket to that. Then you could slide and put it where you want it.
