OK, we are starting.

I'm going to ask you all to help me find the few best threads on each major topic.
We'll start with Maintenance and do them one at a time or I will never be able to keep up.
So please start listing your favorite most helpful best documented thread on maintenance.
It would help to have folks look at what others are proposing so we can reach a consensus.

So, please list your best thread (do a search and then cut and paste the URL with the thread number) and say in a few words why you think it would deserve being in the FAQ

OK. here is my vote. Prior to the thread, we could list the service schedule (in the FSM) in case someone 1- does not own their manual or 2-need a reference now and has their manual somewhere else.

I vote for this thread because it not only lists what should be completed when the vehicle is typically out of warranty (most buys I would imagine) but ALSO lists regional pricing. It would be cool to reference part numbers right below the first bit of info (see above).

I think this could be a huge help to me and a great amount of people. How about any special tools other than the normal wrench and socket set that could make a job easier? I appreciate your efforts to get it started, being new to the LC world.

Let's find some threads. Doesn't do much good to suggest a topic without having a thread to link to, unfortunately, so if there isn't one already in an area of interest, just start a thread, but indicate it's for the FAQ so we don't do any highjacking of it...

Clearly the best threads for a fAQ are the "how to" threads where somebody goes through the trouble of detailing a procedure. Any more of those?


(added a couple of the above already - although something a bit more pointed and teachy would be best for a FAQ)

Ok folks, what we need are some good write-ups. I could find a write up for ANYTHING on my Tacoma! I'm talking pictures, details, part #'s etc.

I promise to take pics on all the work I do, minor and major, for future inclusion. Ok, well maybe not everything:) but you get the idea. Let's make this tech section rock. I need all the help I can get!

Maybe this is maintenance related but here is my used oil analysis thread. It is a good starting point for those checking on their 4.7's wear numbers. I'm sure I'm not the only one to do this and it would be good for it to be easy to get to for reference by others on the board.
