ok after reading a bunch of these threads abt smog pumps i know realize the one in my cruiser is shot and probably responsible for a few problems ive had for a while. i dont have the coin for a new oem one($900!). who does the best rebuild?: ccot, maf, sor or local auto part store? tks

chris

heard NAPA are good, under $100

I have used a bunch of NAPA remans but I thought OEM was only around $350? Maybe I am way off. The pump usually goes out cuz the PS pump is leaking on it.

True. I think Napa is the best. I went through like 2 in 3 years on rebuild ones from a local parts store.

Keep your receipt and find out how long their warranty is for before you buy one. I have seen a couple of used OEM ones on ebay.

WARNING..........

DO NOT surrender your pulley.

The aftermarket re-builts DO NOT include pulleys.

Toyota DOES NOT sell just a pully, you must buy a pump to get a pulley and they are a ton of money.

When I bought my truck, it had the wrong pulley on it. It was too narrow and had a wimpy little skinny belt on it (GM?). The belt fit all the way down to the bottom of the grooves on the harmonic balancer. I was able to score a used Toyota pulley from a fellow Cruiserhead.
