to really answer your question... go to GNC

hmmm this seems to have turned into some huge debate.

A couple people answered my first question but it all seems to point to GNC which I hate. I can't believe that is my best option here in NC.

Cost Co will be getting most of my business as dpsnutrition.com seems to have doubled their prices in the last two years.

Look at some small businesses in the area. There's one run here locally by a bodybuilder that used to go to the gym I worked out at. Good prices, and they're usually more apt to cut you a deal if you're a regular customer and chat with them.

I'm going to be getting back into lifting. I decided it has been too long since I did some very heavy throwing of the weights around.
Been a while since I did this so I need a good store, place, web site, etc... to get supplements on. My old source sucks now and the other is in LA. If anyone has a hook up somewhere let me know.

I don't think i'll hit my last competative weight of 285 with a low body fat %. but i'd like to get around 270. That seems to be a good goal for me right now.

To double post, I've been thinking the same thing. I've taken a huge break ( I haven't lifted really since Lily was born). I'd like to get back to benching 315... Maybe my source would cut us a deal if we were buying double, but getting it to you would be the problem.. We don't see each other enough... I miss you...:grinpimp:

go cry about it :flipoff2:

I miss your smell.

Primal Blueprint 101 | Mark's Daily Apple

Following most of this, I am the fittest I have been since I was 18 years old. Pretty good for an old dude. ;<)

Dropped from 185 to 165. Way stronger and can actually do more than 1 pull up now.

Eat egg whites every moring with a banana and a glass of milk. Salad and protein for lunch. Mostly protein for dinner. Skip almost all bread/grain as much as possible.

agree 100% with uzj100. Marks blog is a great resource. I dropped twenty pounds in 2 months with it. Basically lots of meat, veggie, some fruit. NO dairy, refined sugars, or refined carbs. NOTHING proccessed. Stick to the outside edges of the grocery store. If it doesnt have to be refriderated it should be suspect. The info he puts out about insulin response is right on.

I haven't read it, but it sounds a lot like the South beach mantra. I did it, and dropped 30 pounds. Problem is I like beer, and it's carb heavy and empty calories, but mmmmm

Yeah cutting out beer is a no go by far

I think it goes beyond South Beach to give you the following, Eat and work out like you would thousands of years ago. Also, this is easy for me to remember when making food and workout choices. Nuts, berries, meat, veggies, fruit and repeat. Lots of sleep. Lift heavy things. Suicides, burst workouts, pull ups, squats, all the items that make you breath really hard. Core, core, core and more core.

80/20 rule. 80% what you eat and 20% working out controls your weight.

Have fun!

PS - Mix in some light beers. It is ok (u can do it) pour it in glass and no one even knows it's light beer. If taste is an issue, drink another real beer next or drink it really cold and fast.
