So at this moment has lost, or delivered to the wrong location the rebuilt steering box that includes a new 105 sector shaft and pitman arm. Needless to say I'm pissed...but hoping they can find it. I had insured everything for $1K - Though I'm wishing I'd done it for $3K, then I'd just buy a new one. I'm fine with a rebuilt one as long as it's OEM. I'll probably have to buy another sector shaft and pitman arm.

Where's the best place to look. I've already started looking on the classifieds here. Not sure how long it'll take UPS to either find it (my ideal option) or to determine it's gone.

Thanks.

New OEM units come with the 105 shaft I believe. Looks on partsouq or McGeorge. Or buy a reman one off Rockauto, get the 105 shaft and pitman arm and install it yourself. Or send all that to RedHead.

Partsouq does have the gear box listed on their site. But nothing there says if it has a 105 sector shaft or not.

Interesting. I bought one from Rockauto prior to getting my original rebuilt and it was the original sector shaft....
36mm is the new larger size, correct?

I'd seen in a separate post that Onur confirmed the steering box 44110-60212 had the 105 sector shaft in it. I'm still hoping UPS finds the package. I insured it for $1K (think I was all in for $700)...but to get a new one would be $1900. I had looked at some of the other places, but was concerned they were all aftermarket parts.

This is correct. All new OEM steering gear boxes automatically update the PN to include the most recent internal changes.

Is that the larger shaft from the 105?

I know there was some that were questioning if the ones available from Rock Auto are the larger shaft from the 105, has this been confirmed yet or no?

I did some digging and found Lares website, the shaft on this one is 1.42" which is 36mm. They have it listed for $415, not too bad if I say so myself.

I am confused.
If toyota/ or the after market is selling a replacement 80 series steering box with a 105 sector shaft, this would require a new pitman arm as well. As the pitman arm from the 80 series takes a smaller diameter spline. The strength of the 105 sector shaft comes from using the same diameter shaft into the (105) pitman arm. Where the 80 sector shaft diameter is reduced as it mates with the splined area of the smaller pitman arm . The smaller diameter 80 series shaft breaks (if/when) just above the pitman arm.
