Bought the Torque Pro app today for my android radio in the GX and it seems pretty cool, but I really need the ODBII to fully use it. Suggestions? I’ve read the cheap / mini ones draw power when the vehicle is off—that true?

I use the OBDCheck VP11 – VeePeak which has a standby draw of 8ma. I believe the standby draw on a GX470 is around 100ma so you wouldn't be adding much. I have had any problems with the Veepeak.

Thank you. And I’m assuming you meant have not had a problem correct?

Bought one and I cannot get it to connect to my Phoenix PX6. I read somewhere it (PX6) doesn’t have Bluetooth capability for this. I’m getting a bit frustrated at the Android-ness of this radio.

Hmm. Sorry to hear that. I hope you can return the reader. BTW, maybe Wifi OBD will work better. Wifi tends to be more cross compatible.

I more or less gotta keep it. The return procedure is more trouble than it’s worth.

So now I need to find the best WIFI ODBII scanner for the radio. :(

Reviving this thread, this VeePeak thing won’t connect to the GROM either. So it’s useless to me.

Anyone have a 100% working Bluetooth ODBII dongle/adaptor that works with both the Phoenix px6 and GROM vline? The GROM has a higher priority since I’ll be going on a ~5k mile road trip in June.
