Best Motor Mounts For 5.3 Swap (1 Viewer)

I have been browsing through some forums, and cant find a solid mount for my project.

Does anyone know what motor mounts I can use to swap a gen 3 5.3 into my fj40?

I used Advance Adapters mounts and they seem fine. There are quite a few options out there though maybe I don’t understand what you are up against?

X3. They aren’t the neatest looking, but they are functional. On my last wheeling trip, I was poking around under the hood and found the mounting bolt to be loose. Not sure how long it has been like this, but tightening it didn’t change how good the engine felt.

Now if I was doing it again, I might try to incorporate the stock mounting hardware somehow. At least the engine portion. The real beauty of the the SBC/LS engine is that you can always get a replacement part. So, if you used the stock mount and needed one in the middle of nowhere, you’d go down to the local parts store and odds are they would have one in stock. Or at least be able to get one in a day or two.

Case in point, my buddy broke both engine mounts on his BMW the other day- Parts are a week and half out. In the age of UPS and Amazon, it seems silly, but things go wrong sometimes…

I will have a kit that uses the GM isolators just like my very popular 60 and 80 series kits available pretty soon.
They will definitely be better then the AA kit. Using an actual motor mount and not a hockey puck.

I used the GM mounts, IIRC you can get the frame side as a separate piece from GM and weld it in, then its all stock gm mounts.

I used the AA mounts. Dead simple. Line everything up and burn them in. Has some adjustability right to left, but not front to back. So make sure you like the placement before making it permanent.

They ended up not happening. One day. VHave been a very low priority for me vs 60/80 stuff which is much more popular

I am confused, what kit, isn't it just a frame side piece & a motor mount you can get at any auto parts store ?
Matt, if the kit did come to life what would it include ?
