I saw another thread like this in the 60/62 forum that was for the best mod's under $50. But since this forum is for 100 owners, I thought we should up the price limit.

OK...how about a FULL tank of premium gasoline... well... while you can still get a tank for UNDER 100 BUCKS !!

How did you do this? Do you have a write-up on the install or have pictures of the final result?

Roof rod racks. PVC tubing and U-Bolts.

This little storage gizmo:

If you get this part number from your local dealer

part number 58839-60040
cover, console box (official name from the dealer)

this wil replace that slot you guys are talking about to a pocket. you just pry that slot and drop this one in and you have something to put your cell phone in or something elese.

$12.00

BTW- what do you guys store in the rear tool and first aid kit compartments? I haven't found anything that fits really nicely. I have a medical emergency kit that I keep in a canvas bag in the back, but its got too much stuff to go in the compartments.

Matt,

Is your stereo the stock head unit? If so, please describe how you did this. I searched for posts with "ipod" under your name but only this one turns up. I'm sure there's a bunch of us who would like to do this.

HIR headlights. $70 for low beams, $70 for high beams

Got a pick of that gizmo?

I store my hand-held CB and wiring and an emergency triangle in the long one with the stretchy band.

Just FYI Dan had to special order mine, and he doesn't know if it will fit. I plan to report back to Dan and you guys when I get it installed. He said it was the first one he had sold. It was listed for the 03+ console. I just hope it is deep enough to hold my blackberry securely. There isn't a safe place for it when I have 2 cups in the cupholder.

There is a post that has a link to the company who makes the wire harness adaptor for the i pod and the land cruiser stock harness. Here is the catch though, it attaches to the hook up that would normally drive your 6 disc changer-at least on the 98 and 99's. I know some of you have the in dash 6 disc.

I did some searching, couldn't find the post you are referring to....

I just Installed mine in my 2000, and its awesome !! (yeah, I know..I am easily entertained!)...I was always #itching about there being no-place for my LG camera-flip phone(with the thicker battery)..and PRESTO..a perfect fit... Yoo-Hoo..t doesnt get any better than this !!..(did I mention that I am easily entertained?)

BTW..
Total installation time...15 seconds

I do not have the factory head unit in my car, I replaced it with an after market Panosonic unit. My Panasonic unit has RCA (red/white) plugs in the back of it. So I have a cable that plugs into the iPod headphone jack and plugs into RCA plugs. The wire runs from the back of the stereo and ends up in my ash tray. This way I can tuck it away when it is not in use, and when it is in use the ash tray is a perfect fit for my iPod mini. I don't know if this works for the factory stereo, just depends on what plugs are included.

Monster cable has a solution for stock radios, but its costly. I haven't used this stuff, nor do I know anyone who does.

Other options are the FM transmitters, but these don't always give you good sound quality.

After I did all of my searcing, I found the cleanest/cheapest way also produced the best sound.
