Best fridge / freezer poll - post reasons why you picked

I didn't read the entire thread but wanted to throw this out there. I seem to notice that the Danfoss owners are having to install a solar system to keep up with the fridge draw. This is based on a very sample population, mainly my local landcruiser peeps. I have an old Engel 43q fridge and don't have a solar setup but I also don't sit at a spot for days on end. A local peep went from an Engel 35q (I think) to an ARB 50 and immediately saw the need for a solar system. But he does sit on a beach in Baja for days at a time.

Curious, if this a normal thing with the Danfoss units?

I didn't vote because I haven't owned all types/makes/model fridge units so I'm not qualified to answer this pole.

I went with Engel because of low amperage draw and they have proven to extremely reliable globally. Nothing against ARB, Dometic, or any other manufacture.

You ever go back to a thread you made and thought was long ago dead to find over 100 replies and tons of useful info? Just wanted to say I appreciate this site and all of you, 10 years later. PS I bought an ARB, used the heck out of it in my LX470, put it in a Sprinter Van, and buyer wanted it so he got it in the sale. Time for another one for the new to me LX570.

Old thread but still relevant as over time mfg ebb and flow.

I recently bought a National Luna Dual 50. About the right size, the distributor is local. I was also fortunate to buy it before the 20% tariffs kicked in.
