Have read 100 of post on tires. Most are back to 2011. I tow a 1200 pound boat in flat Florida. 10 % off-road. 90 % road. Who currently makes the best AT tire. OME lift with stock gears.

Thanks
Tom

10% of your miles are offroad? That’s incredible. If you drove 5,000 miles a year that would be 500 offroad miles.

I’d recommend Super Swampers. Probably Boggers.

I also think Interco is the way to go but Thornbirds are probably best for more AT use.

BFG Ko2, imo the best do-it-all tire currently on the market. The Michelins mentioned above are a great tire as well.

I second the BFG TKO2. Just a great All Terrain tire with a really tough sidewall.

Yes.

I forgot about Thornbirds. Amazing tire in every possible way.

Best? Probably BFG KO2. Pretty dang good? I'd say the Falken Wildpeak AT3s. I have a set of the old AT2s on my 80 (48k miles and still going strong) and recently put a set of the newer AT3s on my 2002 Tundra and really like them. LT rated, quiet, aggressive tread for an AT...

You said 10% off road but not what you do when you get there. If you do not see a lot of rocks (Florida) or tree roots, the Goodyear DuraTrac is not a bad tire but have soft side walls. I echo the statements above on the BFGs, solid tire and I have had many sets. Locally many use the Nitto Terra Grapplers and swear by them.

The BFG is a tried and trusted tire, I don't think you can go wrong with them. Just remember that every tire is a compromise. Ride vs towing capacity and sidewall protection, traction (off road) vs noise, Wet vs Dry. All have to be weighed as there is not a perfect tire for all uses.

Vote for Toyo AT2 here.

Thornbirds...wow. My friend had those on his Bronco in the late 90's.

Another BFG fan, I've got about 10 years/50k miles on some original KO and still going strong. They are 315/75 and I rotate with a set of 5 though. The KO2 will most likely be the replacement. I don't off-road much anymore, snow, beach and trails are about it. Current set went rock crawling a few times, just not my thing so towing and highway miles is what I do aslo.

Maybe he meant time, not miles. Since no unit is given that would be my guess.

I love Thornbirds! I would never run them, but every time I see them I chuckle. You don't see them around much anymore. I think they were the official tire of the lifted show truck of the 80-90s.

I do like the Duratrac's I recently put on. Good on-road tire. Good snow tire, but that may not be relevant at the moment.

Another vote for thornbirds, they really highlight the port installed tail light guards.

What vehicle are you driving? Stock gears? I would love to try a 315/75 just not sure if stock gearing will suffer too much when I tow. All flat towing and only about 2000 pounds.
