I think an update to my KISS Drawers for 100-series (Keep It Simple Storage (KISS) Drawers) that I am contemplating will make them workable for an 80 series with minimal effort, and was wondering if there were any mudders I could meet with and get some measurements, look at mounting points etc, living in Bend? Please PM me if around and available.
Thanks,
Dave

I probably won't be in Bend anytime soon, but if you happen to be in the Rogue Valley (Medford, Central Point, Ashland, Grants Pass) more than happy to help.

And of course I was just in Bend this past weekend... Sorry I missed ya.

Go ahead and put me down as 80 series group buy #1 customer.

I was in Bend this past weekend, wish I could have helped

LOL, thanks guys, and thanks for the PMs nearby - I really want to find a Bendite if at all possible though, just so much quicker to tweak, solve, and iterate.

No one yet - come on, I see 2x as many 80 rigs as 100s here!??

Too far to be of much help but I am up for beta testing and/or purchase of the first batch. Willing to give you a deposit if it helps move the project along.

Thank you @noahfecks, that's appreciated but not necessary- just need that local beta at the moment...

I live just south of Bend in Three Rivers area. PM me for more info.

Yeah, I'd volunteer but that would require me removing my drawer setup which isn't difficult, but it isn't fun either.

Also in redmond if you still need help. pm or text 4808009661

Thanks guys, holding a bit longer for in-town (none of us get good gas mileage;) but if no one pops up I'll ping y'all - thanks

I've got a Bendite to help, thanks @kombi, @Readypro1, @ZackR. Right now I'm just asking for access to a truck for measurements but shortly I'll be asking for a local beta customer (at a discount, like I did for 100s) so stay tuned...

Thoughts:
UHMW> Sliders
1/2 Baltic Birch Plywood Adequate if braced properly.
I would run the top over drawers.
I would Rivet and glue a piece of aluminum on that edge.
Add I bolts or similar on inside to mount to floor Seat Anchors. Mine hops on bumps.

is that the PDF for the last picture and can you tell me more about the LED inside the hatch?

Pics are other designs I stole off mud when getting ideas to build mine.
I do not have the LED information, but www.superbrightleds.com sells some strips that others are using. They rotate as well.

The PDF is what I built and it has a metal frame.
In retrospect, I think I would just make boxes out of wood instead of involving metal.
Would dado partitions in drawers.
Would put hatches in the top for access.
Hinges for side panels are smart.

Okay gents - I've got bits on the way to build a beta for the 80 series - I am looking for someone in Bend if at all possible, if not then Redmond, Sisters crew let's talk. If you're interested the price is $450 (600 full price later) in exchange for your understanding and time helping me measure, tweak, and cut the top and drawer fronts. It might take a few iterations (which is why i really prefer a Bendite right now) but that cost will be on me- just need you to be relatively responsive working with me to meet and fit/test/measure each time. I honestly don't think this will take more than 1 or 2 times to get right, my design changes to the 100 have made it even easier to adapt to the 80.

And for those interested in buying - no need to pm/post to this thread, just give me a few weeks and I will be setting up another combined group buy (100 & 80 together), and will let everyone know about it in a clean thread in this forum.

Oh, and for those wondering what this is about, here is the current thread of info, which honestly I haven't had time to update for the new wing changes, but it's on my list to do;) Keep It Simple Storage (KISS) Drawers
