Today we completed the install of an OME lift (885/896). We got at least 2.5" lift out of it. It was an interesting day to say the least. Dan (brother) did most of the work, and I am sure that he will get home and post up the technical information when he sees this post!

But here's the fun part...before and after. The first pic is of my truck the day I bought it (March 25th). The second is today after the lift. I still have the 265's on it until next week when the 285 Goodyear MTR's go on.

I am so loving this truck!

The truck looks great, but who's the good looking brunette with her finger on the front of the truck? :)

LOL, that's the customer service rep from the dealer. She's looking at the chip that was in my paint when I took delivery. I'm the redhead behind her looking pissed off because the chip wasn't there when I drove it.

Thanks for the compliment on the truck!

I like red heads too :D

install notes

DO'S:
Unless you have a shop, go get someone else to mount up the springs/struts for the front.

Do drop the front tie rod.

Do read more on how to install the front if you do it yourself.

Do get a 19,17,14, and 12 mm socket, ratcheting wrenches.

Do get big jackstands....sucker is big, even stock.

DON'T:

Try to remove or install the front without dropping the tie rod. You WILL most likely cut a CV boot :). Trust me, I know...

Don't get a spring compressor that sucks.

Keep working when you are exhausted..remember to take a break and have a #6...often.

That is generally it. The front tie rods were a bitch to get off so I actually got everything together without dropping them...mistake, but it is done.

Thing went up quite a bit. The rears were almost a passing thought...just drop the swaybar and it is simple. Some of the shocks had overspray on the nuts from the well lining...that sucked too.

I would not do the lift if you are a shadetree...you will hate life. If you have done a lift before, no worries, just get more help than you and your sister :)
