I know steering arms varied over the years besides the small pattern/big pattern thing...

My current arms definatly do not have enough meat around the TRE hole to ream out for 1-ton TRE's. I am sprung under, so no hysteer arms for me.

So, which model/year arms are the beefiest? I think I might have heard something about FJ62 arms being the best...

Thanks

with no lift and spring under you will be very close to smacking the frame.

I'm sure you will. :flipoff2:

I don't want anymore parts off of Dave's old trucks... I feel a jinx coming on from the ones I already have.

Really- does anyone know what the best arms are?

jackass you forgot my name  i was going to send you a bottle of blavod from england but you just fxxxed your self over :flipoff2:

What, cause I didn't want to write FJ40???

Spaz...

You should send it anyway, I know what happens when you drink vodka :flipoff2:

BTW, I never really saw your cruiser before it got hacked up. I thought it was on at least 35's tho.. which typically means some sort of lift. like a 4" lift.

Which give a lot more room for Hysteer :flipoff2:

1987 and later arms are the thickest stock Toyota steering arm....you can see the difference when placed next to an earlier arm pretty clearly.

all i care about is enough material around the TRE mounting hole... I know on my double arm one of the arms has much more meat in this area than my '79 FJ40 arms.

Thanks Steve for some useful info. :flipoff2: Mace/CoolCruiser:flipoff2:

Mike- Looks like I might need to pull some more parts off David's truck. :D

I thought that Mark W. posted up about this a while back and stated that he had seen (or has) the thicker arms on the last of the 60's, before the 62 series...

I have been trying to find the thread....

60 to 62s dont looks all that different...
