Well, I fear that noise I was chasing was more terminal than I thought, I’m waiting for a tow truck now, seems like the motor seized.

I want to keep it nice and stock, and I can rebuild it myself, but I would love recommendations on who to send the block and head to.

Anything I should watch out for when I speak to the shop?

Joes engine shop in concord - heard fantastic things.

George Beavis in Vallejo - rebuilt my LS

Yota1 Performance in Riverbank (NE of Modesto)

Georg at Valley Hybrids referred me to them when my HG blew a few years ago. I got a rebuilt 2F head from them and they are very LC-experienced. I'd expect them to work with the 3FE as well.

It's not quite Bay Area but probably worth the extra miles in terms of experience.

I will happily drive the motor there for a good shop, no problem at all. I think anywhere from LA to Oregon to Reno is my range.

Thank you!

@MarkMarine I would call YOTA1 and see what their turn around time, I spoke to one of the guys at Norcalfest and he said they have 88 engines that is in the works right now.
