Ha, ha, not saying that...but my choice was made by listening to several people on the forum.

I went with the mediums. I don't really carry a lot of weight, just family camping trips and a 12' self-bailing whitewater raft that seems heavier than it is. I went with the rubber TJM caster bushings and an OME damper. Very happy with everything.

My MR-2 is wayyyyyy more work than the Land Cruiser. At least it is an original 3SGTE car. I purchased it with forged pistons and a rebuilt engine. I have done Tokico adjustables all the way around with Eibach springs. I replaced the timing belt, water pump, radiator and assorted parts then had to replace the turbo manifold, downpipe and put on an HKS exhaust. As soon as I got it on the road, I realized there was a fault somewhere and I had an overboost issue that resulted in a head gasket failure. I replaced that with a Cometic head gasket and ARP head studs. The interior is mint, body needs a little work...I have driven it 80 miles total in 6 years.

EMS Powered made some really cool parts for them before they went under. I got an LED turbo boost gauge that replaces the stock unit that is one slick addition. As soon as I get done with the car, I am selling it. Two Land Cruisers and an MR-2 are just way too much work with a full time job. My first car was an '87 Supra. Maybe I'll get another one of those.

According to the link you provided shipping on the fox shocks is $109????

Que? Shipping is free. The BIN price is not what I paid, they will accept a best offer of $230 per set.

Got it. For whatever reason the "go to" shipping destination for me was set to overseas. When I switched it to USA it was indeed free.

So going over this list...am I correct in seeing that the shocks from fox and the Arab springs are actually for 100 series...but work on the 80?

Please correct me if I'm wrong as I'm close to buying the items on this list

I'm not sure if the springs work for the 100 as well, but they are definitely the medium OME springs for the 80.

But yes, these Fox shocks work for both from what I understand.

I purchased everything I listed, so I sure hope it's right. ;)

Just an FYI to future readers of this thread. Most of these parts can be purchased from vendors that support this website and are a trusted resource with advice, knowledge, and stand behind what they sell.

Well....I went ahead and ordered the package listed above....will report findings once it arrives...it will be replacing a OME stock height set of springs and s set of bilstein shocks.

Well back from work today...only to discover a pile of goodies from fox and ome waiting for me..so o seized the moment and got to installing....
Nothing odd or difficult to report...no pictures as of yet..but even without putting the 2* bushings in the control arms, ride quality compared to my OME stock height springs and bilstiens is remarkable..I thinking gonna like this...will add to this post more findings and pictures tomorrow

with OME stock height springs and bilstiens.

does anyone know what the real world difference between the drivers side and passengers side springs are on the OME 850 heavy fronts?

i have a full 1" difference between drivers and passengers side, and i'm wondering if swapping them would make a difference, the front of my truck leans a lot drivers side and it's starting to bug me a lot...

i'm assuming the PO mistakenly put the "drivers side" labeled spring on the drivers side, not realizing they were australian springs...

any way to check which spring is on which side? are they labeled anywhere? i don't see the white paper label anywhere on them...

The springs should be labeled A and B...a= Aussie and goes on the passenger side ;-)

would it make a full inch difference?

It shouldn't. But OME does have a tolerance spec. I think it's on their website. As to what they consider in spec

It sort of seems that maybe OME should abandon the A/B/right/left/driver's/passenger's/right hand drive/left hand drive thing. I've read lots of posts here where this is argued, misunderstood and installed wrong only to leave people second guessing and swapping springs to try and get it right. When I installed my TJM springs, they weren't marked (or I never noticed) and I just installed them. The ride height was almost perfect side-to-side (within .125", easy).

Ride on road is great...factory smooth without the marshmallow feel...no driveline vibes...no camber/caster correction yet.
Off road it soak up fire roads like nothing....travel is good and and sure footed

Tires are bfg mud terrain ko2 in 255x85x16
