i never understood that either. i'm sure they did a ton of research before bringing out the FJC but i just don't get it. how many new jeeps roll off the showroom floor everyday? how many FJCs roll out everyday? makes no sense to me at all.
and now they're pulling the plug on the FJC already? i'm sure there's more to it like the mandated minimum fuel economy requirement imposed by the us government,...........
better yet, a diesel hybrid. i've been wondering why they're not more popular?! most of the smaller cars sold in europe these days are small displacement turbo diesels in 3 and 4 cyl configurations. and they get some amazing fuel economy. meanwhile we're busy resting on our laurels and waiting to get our asses handed to us................don't even get me started on china either.
Here is a thought, whats the diesel engine in the J**ps, who makes it?
If it's Mercedes like the PT Cruiser and the 300C then Toyota probably couldn't use the engine in the US if they wanted to, maybe that extended to South America and now the Daimler Chrysler deal is over you could see the Bandeirante in the US.... probably not, oh well never mind.
I haven't worked out why Toyota won't sell the FJC outside the US or don't sell a 40 series or 70 series type vehicle in the US and UK but sell the 70 series in some of Europe.

Reading the article in English it doesn't look to me like they are going to produce it....it just looks like they are giving the history of the vehicle in Brazil and advertising the new FJ cruiser. However the picture does make it seem like a new vehicle, I'm totally confused. Anyone find out anything more? Would love to have a new diesel 40 that isn't 35 years old....correction one that doesn't drive like or have the problems of a 35 year old vehicle.
