I’ve been wanting to do a Baja trip for some time now, but world (and family!) events have conspired against those wishes. I think this spring might be a good time to give it another try.

Is anyone else interested in a trip like this? I’m thinking maybe a week? Maybe more? Is there enough interest to make this an “official” club run? Or, should it be more of an informal trip (obviously, scheduled to not compete with any “official” run)?

I’ve never done an “exploring” type trip, though I’ve been to San Felipe & Ensenada a few times. I’m thinking beach camping, maybe a little time in the mountains… I haven’t planned an itinerary yet.

Let me hear your thoughts… Thanks!

Though I've spent a lot of time fishing in various places in Baja, I've never actually camped on the Beach - and doing so is a bucket list item for me. I was even a member of a Baja Travel Club called Vagabundos del Mar that organizes several car camping/RV caravans to various destinations in Baja every year - but could never find the time to join them. Now that I actually have a rig worthy of such a trip, I do want to make it happen. Vagabundos is also a good source of current info, mexican insurance, and permits. I may have to find a way to trailer a small aluminum skiff down with me, because there is no way I'm not going to fish if I go down there.

very interested...

I'm booked 3/12 - 3/19, 4/24 - 5/5, 5/21 - 6/13.

BTW: I have done a) Laguna hansen zone, b) ensenada to san quintin (all on the coast), c) Punta colenet to mike's sky ranch (san rafael) very close to the observatory...that was one hell of a grind. All worthy to do again:clap:

I have an interest in doing a route that includes baja missions.

Also: I have the usa subscription to Overland Trail Guides | 1000s of miles of Routes + Trails - https://www.overlandtrailguides.com/ , they have a baja version which I would gladely purchase I can make it on the run.

long weekend ish 3-4 days would be cool. love baja.

trying to keep this alive ... anyone interested in a trip during March 2025?

been itching to visit Mission San Borja and beaches around Bahia de los Angeles

dang.....I'll be out of country then.

BTW: whoever organizes this fun trip, hit me up as I have both editions of the baja almanac (one a collector's item). A must have paper backup for baja. Hit me up and I can scan appropriate pages once you know your track.

2 weeks will just allow you to touch the surface. for true exploration of culture/sights/magic spots, give it 4 weeks. Plus, you need time to adjust to "baja time"....not today.

If I can figure out how to make it a month with work I’ll definitely be doing that.

This will be a big once in a lifetime trip before my boss retires. After that I won’t have the opportunity to do things like this for a long while

the issue with baja is no amount of time is long enough. you get 3 days setup and people say you need a week. get 2 weeks setup and you need a month. lol.
such an awesome place you can do alot in 3 days staying in north baja. you can do alot in 5 days also. point is. any amount of time in baja is a win i think.
just go and be there and enjoy!

The last two sentences are what I want to hear!

I wish I wasn’t 2,000 miles from there.
