Santa Rosa Truck Trail isn't too far from Anza if you wanted a change of scenery while you're in the area. Santa Rosa peak is around 8000' with nice views of the valley below.

Only way to get there is from anza, the borrego side has been closed off for many years.

I believe the road up from Borrego is closed both from the South and North but I could be wrong. Best to verify passage.

The road from Borrego Springs to Baileys Cabin has been closed for years. Last time I drove it was around 1987... To my knowledge the only 4x4 access is
from Anza.
