To make this tech related, Harbor Freight has a Badland electric winch you could affix to your ceiling and yank off your hardtop. Rated for 1500 pounds and $100 bucks today only. I know lots of varied opinions on the Badland winches, but if you need a winch, they are 40% off today only. I assumed they would sell out but my local store here in Ohio still has quite a few of every selection. This is good on all of them, I bought a UTV to stick on my trailer at that price to save my back and a smaller to stick on my ATV. No limit on how many you buy with the 40% off coupon.

I will delete this at the end of the day, since it really lacks any "tech" but if you are like me, you don't peruse too many other forums here ;)

I have one of these on my trailer. It’s ok, at best. I’ve had to swap the controller out with an Amazon unit. The stock one was iffy on whether it wanted to work. The freewheel pull broke off in the drum- I will take half the blame on this failure. I haven’t bothered to fix this yet and it usually power spools out…

On the plus side, it’ll punch above its weight rating. It was almost able to pull a rolling, but dead 60 onto the trailer. It was able to pull it to the base of the ramps, but only made it half way up. I got it on by using a ratchet strap to relieve the load and then pull a foot or so with the winch. If I had brought a snatch block, I have no doubt it would have pulled it right up. I use it to pull a 59 F100 (no engine/transmission) on and off the trailer. Does that well, usually….
